I am also knitting the turkish bed socks from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas in a partial skein of jitterbugin color way raspberry. They are so fun and fast . I am knitting them as Christmas socks.
I am going to start Annabella’s cowl in Shibui silk cloud and Shibui Baby Alpaca Dk. I am very excited about these projects. I am also knitting a lace scarf in tilli tomas which i am am knitting for my grandmother which I do not enjoy knitting.
I finished two hats

The Beaumont tam in Blue Sky Alpacas Sport in an awesome color combination and the Purple rain Hat in Malabrigo worsted in jacinto. I test knitted purple rain.

lots to tell

July 1, 2010

I have not blogged in about 2 months. Oops.
I really have been getting into spindles. I now am obsessed with exotic woods.
I got a puppy a couple of months ago. She is a poodle bichon. Her name is tulip and she is 4 months old. I love her she is adorable and cute. She can sometimes be naughty. I have to find a picture.
The yarn that I reviewed that is was knitting into a tank top had to be frogged. It was very small. I sort of knew that, but I kept knitting it thinking it would stretch. But it didn’t and I tried it on after getting of 1/3 of the way there by stringing it up. I couldn’t get it over my head. I got pretty mad.
I started because I really loved this scarf and I was mad about my tank top. So I cast on in in colorway harmony rose. It is mostly burgundy with hints of purple and magenta. This yarn is sproingy and soft. I won this yarn in a contest. I usually am not a big fan of burgundy, but I love this colorway. I would recommend this yarn. I am about 40% done. This is now resting because I have a new project
My new project is
summer flies < . I love this yarn. It is slick and stringy, but in a good way. I will give a review soon. I got this yarn today at my lys. I love this. The pattern is free and stylish.
Now I go home and knit for a bit then look up this yarn to see what else people make with it. Then I found this
. I love this . I like the short version better, but the long is cool to. I loved it so much and my crochet skills are sort of good so I am going to take a class. I blame the wool fumes. I can’t wait.

Rowan Calmer review

April 13, 2010

Rowan Calmer is a DK weight, eight ply cotton and acrylic blend. It has 175 and is 50 grams. Its 75% cotton 25% acrylic. This yarn comes in 18 great colors. I really like the colors tree, aqua marine, cloud (I am using this color), coffee, slosh, plum, garnet, kiwi, calmer, vintage, and fresia. Cotton is notorious for being hard on your hands. I like this yarn because it has a little (gasp) acrylic. I usually hate acrylic, but the acrylic makes the yarn more strechy so it is easier to work with. If you are making any summer items it is a great yarn to use. I still have to take breaks because the cotton after awhile hurts my hands.
pros
- great colors
- easier to work with than other cotton
-good yardage
cons
- expensive
- handwash
I like this yarn. I received this yarn as a gift and I am enjoying it.

Hi!
